  2. Nice video Paul, i have a quesion, When i print out the first image I do not get the correct dimensions, I get instead of 50 mm, 48 mm and 150mm 143mm. I have generally looked to the sizes and try to change but i can not, can also do work with these sizes?

    1. when you click on the pdf above and are using windows a print option is diplayed if click on the printer icon the print option page comes up. On this page there is an option which says fit to page, if this has a tick in it remove the tick. If you have downloaded the template check in your printer options when you print an option somewhere is scaling the drawing.

Hope this helps come back to me if you cannot print it i have just tested and it seems to be working.

  5. Hi Paul,I am currently knocking out various pine lures -different size slider ,minnow ect,all are around 3"-5" ,hoping to use them for pike at distance on big waters but also fancy a go at the trout in a local river when in season.
Its full of them and the locals pull them out on worm and spoons ,spinners .
I was wondering about making really small wood lures around the size of the smallest spinners .What do You think? Just scale down what i,m making now so their like mini cranks or mini jigs or do you think there is a limit to how small you can go with wood?
Ithought to start I would drill through a thin dowel ,insert a mig wire for line and hang rear small treble and maybe hang a treble midway as well .I know I may as well use a spinner but idea of trying to make tiny wooden lures that work in basically ditches does appeal .
Also what do reckon on making a wooden weedless spoon?

  6. When i started making lures it was for trout in stream and i used bits of shaped hazel. One of the better lures would be a Devon minnow, i was making some of these recently out of bamboo. Other options are as you said scale right down, the difficulty i found was lures become unpredictable at smaller sizes. I recently started on a tiny two inch lure from balsa for reservoir trout but this is lipless. The great things about having a little local stream is you can piss around until you find a lure that works for you
